Creative non-fiction might be described as telling the truth; in technicolor. The events and characters are real but are presented using fictional techniques to emphasize certain aspects while minimizing others. Such works should be considered a painting rather than a photograph.

Ed

Writing software and teaching it dominated my working years. I specialized in what has since become known as embedded, real-time systems. My employers were in the Phoenix area initially, and then later in Silicon Valley and Santa Barbara (California). The job put me on the road to customer sites all around North America and to many overseas locations.

Ed’s ancestors come from lots of places including England, Scotland, Germany and Ireland. But, in tracing his roots, Ed notes that with each generation the number of direct ancestors double while those using a particular name are cut in half.
